What's new in keepup
0.1.2 · October 11, 2026
- keepup lives in the menu bar, with its own mark. Click the mark for a short menu; double-click it, or choose Open keepup, for your list.
- keepup is in the Dock only while one of its windows is open. Closing the window or pressing ⌘Q leaves it running in the menu bar. Quit keepup, in the menu, is what ends it.
- The number of people waiting no longer shows beside the mark. Settings → General brings it back.
- keepup sends no notifications unless you turn them on: Settings → Daily brief, or Nudges. If you had left those settings as they came, the brief and nudges are now off; settings you changed yourself are kept.
- Settings → Email sweep shows what the sweep would mark read right now, before you switch it on.
- Updates install by themselves while keepup sits in the menu bar, unless you chose to be asked first (Settings → General → Install them without asking). If you're asked, the update waits in keepup's menu.

0.1.1 · October 2, 2026
- The email sweep no longer depends on the daily brief. In 0.1, switching the brief off also stopped the sweep, so nothing was marked read.
- The sweep runs as mail arrives. You can choose every hour or twice a day instead: Settings → Email sweep → When.
- A sweep that was missed, because the Mac was off or asleep, is caught up when keepup next runs.
- Settings names the senders of swept mail by their names.
